The 23rd Congress of the European Sleep Research Society
The 23rd Congress of the European Sleep Research Society was held last month (September) in Bologna, Italy. This city, famous for its cuisine and culture, is also home to the oldest university of the western world. The ESRS promotes research in sleep, sleep medicine and sleep disorders.
Members of the ACSENT LAB were invited to present their posters at the conference. Gosia presented part of her PhD research which focused on impaired declarative memory consolidation during sleep in a PTSD sample. As part of Michelle’s PhD, she presented the relationship between reduced delta-stage sleep and circadian rhythms in Addison’s patients. Zoë presented some results from her MA study which explored the effects of sleep and stress on prospective memory. Overall, the posters were well received. The team had a fantastic experience in Italy, both gastronomically and academically speaking.
